Zodiac question, why am i so emotional ?

i am a virgo sun born aug. 24 with an aquarius moon. i have leo in venus and mercury. and also virgo in mars. sometimes i can be completely emotional like a cancer and i am very sensitive to my environment and the ppl in my life.... i get teary and depressed very easily as well, but i keep reading that my sun sign is cold and my moon detached ... however, i can be very possessive emotionally ...i was wondering it may be the leo that is giving that influence ....
